Our co-holder Pre Marie-Eve Carignan a symposium on November 30 and December 1 entitled: “Journalism, Information and Democratic Risks: Cyber Conflicts and Information Risks”.
This conference, organized as part of the COM881 Journalism, Information and Democratic Risks course given by Professor Marie-Eve Carignan, will allow students and other participants to deepen their knowledge of certain themes related to the subject of the course, by presenting the results of their own research in workshops and by hearing renowned guest speakers on the subject of information warfare and the use of information for political, economic or propagandistic purposes by various individuals, groups or organizations.
This conference will focus on the notions of information control, information advantage, information protection, the role of information technology and social and democratic risks.
In addition to the students, we will hear lectures from Steve Waterhouse (Ministère de la Cybersécurité et du Numérique du Québec), Matthieu Guitton (U. Laval), Sylvana Al Baba Douaihy (Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire en cybersécurité) and Arthur Oulaï (UdeS).
This event is organized by the Department of Communication of the University of Sherbrooke and the UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Extremism.
