The head of the Media Division, Marie-Ève Carignan, will be a panelist at this event hosted by the Chief Scientist of Quebec.
The phenomenon of misinformation, including conspiracy theories, seems to have taken on greater importance with the health crisis. Scientific information is no exception. In this context, the effects of misinformation can be felt in the adherence or non-adherence to public health instructions and vaccination. Other societal issues, such as climate change, are subject to misinformation.
What can the scientific community, the mainstream media and influential actors on social media do to counterbalance misinformation? What are the short, medium and long-term solutions to “flatten” the misinformation curve? Professor Carignan and the other guests will certainly have several answers to give!
