Adib Bencherif, Assistant Professor at the School of Applied Politics at the University of Sherbrooke and Scientific Coordinator of the International Study on the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Extremism in the Francophone Space (OIF study), is the author of a recent article in the journal Critical Studies on Terrorism.
The article, entitled “Unpacking ‘glocal’ jihad: from the birth to the ‘sahelisation’ of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb” attempts to develop a critical understanding of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) through a comprehensive analysis of the concept of “glocal jihad”.
