The Associate Professor of the Chair, Adib Bencherif, attended a workshop held in Dakar from October 10 to 14, 2022, which focused on security sector governance, prevention of radicalization and violent extremism. He intervened as a speaker and facilitator in the exchanges between the different participants.
Prof. Adib Bencherif was there, among others, as part of his realization, between 2020 and 2022, of the scientific coordination of a comparative study on the devices of prevention of radicalization in the Francophone space. Co-lead author of the study, co-written with doctoral student Lydie Belporo and Chair co-holder, Professor David Morin, this study was presented at the conference in Dakar as a reference study in the field of radicalization prevention.
The activity has benefited from the expertise of Francophone institutional networks, such as the International Francophone Network of Police Training (FRANCOPOL) and the International Association of Francophone Prosecutors (AIPPF), as well as the UNESCO-PREV Chair, a member of the Francophone Network for the Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism that could lead to Terrorism (FrancoPREV).
