On March 12, our co-holder Marie-Eve Carignan had the honour of sharing her insights and responding to questions from the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage (CHPC) at the House of Commons of Canada, as part of the meeting dedicated to the state of the journalism and media sectors.
She notably addressed:
- The importance of media as a public good essential to democracy;
- The social responsibility of the press;
- The primary role of local and regional media;
- Funding challenges and solutions for a sustainable media ecosystem.
