We are pleased to welcome Sylvana Al Baba Douaihy as the UNESCO-PREV Chair General Coordinator.
Sylvana is an engineer with a master’s degree in Multimedia and Networks from l’Université des pères Antonins in Lebanon (2007). Although initially trained in multimedia engineering, Sylvana has a deep passion for politics, religion and modernity. For this reason, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in contemporary religious studies at Université de Sherbrooke, under the supervision of Professor Sami Aoun. Her thesis focuses on loyalties during the speeches of the Two-Year War in Lebanon from 1975 to 1976. Sylvana is also a teacher in the continuing education program in cyber security and integrated security at Cégep de Sherbrooke. Until recently, she was a senior security program planning officer with Canada Post Security and Investigative Services.
