On April 9, a study day will be held to take a transdisciplinary and multifaceted look at climate information and misinformation. “Climate information and misinformation are cross-cutting phenomena that affect the disciplines within which climate change is studied. In order to fully understand the consequences of these phenomena, it is important to encourage dialogue between the various disciplines and stakeholders. Thanks to the support of the federating research themes “climate change and the environment” and “living together”, the UNESCO-Prev Chair and Climatoscope, this is exactly what is proposed by the present study day.”   The following are invited to take

Marie-Eve Carignan will give a lecture as part of the 12th edition of Semaine de la citoyenneté, entitled “Rebâtir nos sociétés”. “While the problem of misinformation is not new, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the dangers of this phenomenon. Canada is facing an “infodemia” that is leading some people to adopt more extremist positions, increasing social polarization and potentially compromising public safety. This adherence to misinformation is strongly linked to a distrust of government, the media and law enforcement agencies. How, in this context, can we disentangle the true from the false?
