During the summer of 2020, the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) launched a series entitled Focus on Research and Creation. In the area of prevention and evaluation, a portrait of the UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism (UNESCO-PREV Chair) was presented.
In the document, the emphasis is placed on its inspiring research activities and their positive impact on society. UQÀM’s fact sheet highlights the relevance of the UNESCO-PREV Chair’s activities in the context of rising radicalization issues. Given the limits of the law enforcement response, the importance of prevention takes on its full meaning.
The fact sheet sheds light on the PREV-IMPACT project, which aims to implement Canadian models for evaluating programs in prevention of violent extremism, as well as a research project on “infodemia” and massive misinformation vis-à-vis the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please note that the fact sheet is only available in French.
