International Study on the Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism in the Francophone Space

Location: Online

Start Date:

Our co-holder David Morin will lead a workshop in collaboration with the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), the Fédération Wallonie – Bruxelles and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Francophone Network for the Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism that could lead to Terrorism (FrancoPREV), which commissioned a study on the prevention of radicalization and violent extremism in the Francophone space.

This study was conducted by a consortium of five francophone research structures from the South and the North: The UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Extremism (UNESCO-PREV, in charge of the overall coordination of the study), the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), the Resource and Support Center of the Network for the Management of Extremism and Violent Radicalism (CRÉA), the African Center for International, Diplomatic, Economic, and Strategic Studies (CEIDES), and the Applied Social Science Forum(ASSF).

Within this framework, a program of meetings (by videoconference) around the country reports that make up the body of this study is organized and our co-holder will lead the meeting of November 16 on the country reports of Belgium and Canada in which our scientific coordinator Pablo Madriaza will also participate.
